Advanced Theater Workshop

Our Theatre Workshop classes are divided by age group. Children ages seven to eleven are together, while our Advanced Theatre Workshop consists of children ages twelve to sixteen. Our Theatre Workshop classes validate children by giving them the freedom to create their own plays. The characters, action, dialogue, music, costumes, sets and props are all developed by the children. Through improvisation and drama exercises, children experiment with a range of emotions. They are encouraged to "try on" different characters. This helps them understand and empathize with others while discovering more about themselves and their own emotions. Theatre Workshop groups perform two short plays in the Fall and one longer play is performed in the Spring.
