Thanks to all who joined us on September 20 for our two fantastic International Peace Day Events!

The Sunflower Roots and Shoots Peace Crafts and Children’s Peace Parade gave us a chance to spread messages of peace in the community.  We loved knowing that Roots and Shoots groups all over the world were flying their Giant Peace Doves as we flew ours down to the ocean, and back to Veteran's Park in Delray. 

 

108 Sun Salutations honored the United Nations International Day of Peace 

Fans of Sunflower Creative Arts and yoga joined thousands of yogis around the world to form a "mala around the earth" by practicing 108 Sun Salutations at the Buddha Lounge in Delray Becah in honor of the United Nations International Day of Peace.

 

Pennies for Peace

We have begun a Pennies for Peace campaign at Sunflower Creative Arts.  Pennies for Peace is a nonprofit organization that builds schools for girls in Central Asia.  The project was inspired by the best selling book, “Three Cups of Tea”. A water jug labeled with  a "Pennies for Peace" sticker will be found at SCA; please consider donating spare change to this important project and perhaps starting your own campaign; learn more at www.penniesforpeace.org.
